Speech Scientist

TuVox is looking for a Speech Scientist to join its current Voice User Interface (VUI) team to optimize high-quality IVR and speech recognition applications. Join our award winning team in this exciting and fast paced industry.

POSITION SUMMARY

The candidate will be responsible for the creating and optimizing of a wide range of speech recognition grammars as well as voice user interface designs for speech application.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze speech applications for performance and compliance to business and caller satisfaction goals
  • Create benchmarking and trending reports
  • Create and tune speech recognition grammars
  • Write and enhance existing tuning perl scripts
  • Create speech application performance reports
  • Tune speech applications with TuVox Tuning tools, write tuning reports
  • Gather and analyze caller and business requirements to design successful voice applications
  • Develop call flow, dialogs, and prompts to accomplish business and caller satisfaction goals stated in the requirements documents

EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

  • M.S. in computer science, math, engineering or related area
  • 3+ experience as a speech scientist
  • Experienced in speech application grammar creation, knowledge of SRGS
  • Knowledge of Nuance recognition engines preferred
  • Knowledge of Nuance recognition engines a plus
  • Experience in creating speech application performance reports
  • Experience in tuning speech recognition applications

Quality Assurance Engineer

TuVox is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance engineer to join its growing product engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the quality and performance of TuVox’s speech/IVR products.

Position Type: Full Time/Contract
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

POSITION SUMMARY

In this position, your programming and system administration skills are used to test the TuVox On Demand product, including its integration points to external data sources and client-side and server-side processing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop test strategies and test plans for TuVox’s speech products
  • Analyze feature/application specifications, design and develop test cases, plans, and tools
  • Conduct manual and automated testing.
  • Design test automation tools
  • Perform backend web services-based testing
  • Preliminary troubleshooting of issues
  • Accurately report and verify bugs
  • Accurately size effort, and report status

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • 2+ years of QA experience at a Web-based company and/or software development company
  • Good understanding of SQA methodologies and technologies
  • Programming experience with Java, JavaScript, Unix Shell
  • Experience in both UNIX/Linux and Windows operational environments.
  • Familiar in testing, deployment and performance tuning in Java/J2EE based multi-tier products
  • Experience in relational databases (MySQL, MS SQL Server) and knowledge of SQL
  • Working knowledge of Web and Application Servers (TomCat, Apache)
  • Experience with HTML, XML, JSPs, web services, Servlets
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

  • VoiceXML, Perl

Senior Software Development Engineer/Architect

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will design and develop new product modules and enhance current features for the TuVox On Demand portfolio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for the architecture, design, coding, testing and delivery of our On Demand product features and modules. The candidate will perform all technical tasks including requirements analysis, high-level architecture and detailed design, programming, testing and production support.

EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • In-depth experience in all phases of the software development life-cycle process
  • Experience in designing, developing, testing and supporting complex products
  • Be able to manage schedules and priorities to deliver a quality product under aggressive timeline
  • Demonstrated focus on and commitment to continual process improvement.

SKILL SET

  • 8+ years of product development experience
  • 4+ years of development experience using Java and Java related technologies.
  • Must show expertise and experience in designing and developing highly scalable and real time performing systems.
  • Proficient in working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails a plus
  • Experience with relational database and data warehouse technology a plus
  • Experience in IVR and/or speech recognition technology preferable
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to design robust and scalable products for large enterprises
